Alanis Morissette has shared that she suffered multiple miscarriages.

The “Ironic” singer spoke about the struggles she had while trying to conceive and how she remained positive despite her losses on Dax Shepard’s podcast “Armchair Expert.”

Morissette has three children -- sons Winter Mercy, 10 months, and Ever Imre, 9, and daughter Solace, 3. However, their age gap was not ideal, and she confessed that she had “a bunch of miscarriages” in between getting pregnant with her children. It affected her mental health, but she remained positive by reminding herself that there is a “little light” at the end of the tunnel.

“I'm an optimist who will get depressed and cry, but at the end of the day, there's still that little light, that little star of Bethlehem keeps dangling over there,” she said (via People).

“We were chasing and just showing up and then surprises and then devastations and all of it. But, I mean, I do trust. I have this trust pilot light thing that keeps cooking along — even when there's a torrential downpour it's still flickering — of hope and faith and vision for something to work out, whatever it is,” she continued.

Morisette also shared that all the difficulties she experienced made her even stronger.

The singer has been very open about her struggles as a mom. In an interview with Health’s Magazine in May, she expressed her love for all the mothers in the world.

“I love moms so much. If I talk about it too much, I’ll start crying,” Morissette said. “I just think moms are so selfless day in and day out — women are just killing it all the time.”

Morissette also posted her cover for Health magazine on Instagram. In her caption, the celebrity mom shared her realizations, saying, “When i share my shame with a non-judgmental listener.. life feels safer. that kills me... that the answer is moving further toward the safe people in my life.”

In May, Morissette also promoted a shirt worn by her child as all of its profits would go to help those with mental health needs. The singer partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Postpartum Support Int (PSI), and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) for the project.
