Alanna Masterson Teases ‘Back-To-Back Fighting, Action’ In ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8
“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will be filled with action-packed sequences and nonstop fighting, says cast member Alanna Masterson.
While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the actress said that the upcoming episodes will be exciting throughout. The actress also dished on how different Season 8 will be from Season 7.
“Oh, Season 8 is completely different from Season 7. It’s just an all-out thing from episode 1. It takes off and kind of doesn’t stop. There’s tons of action and it’s a war. There’s no skirting around the issue or letting Negan tell us what’s going on. Episode 1, we start out with a bang and it’s awesome. The action is very constant for sure, which is exciting,” she said.
Masterson also talked about her character Tara’s fate in “The Walking Dead” Season 8 after she decided to go back on her word about not revealing that there’s a group called Oceanside. Tara decided to tell Rick (Andrew Lincoln) about it, and they took the guns of the Oceanside in one episode from Season 7.
“It definitely weighs in on her, but she also knows that that’s what had to be done to fight this war. I mean, they needed those guns and if they don’t defeat Negan, Negan’s going to defeat them as well as Oceanside, so it’s only a matter of time. I think that she realizes the threat and that they have to handle it and she can’t feel bad. It’s just this is the world they live in. She can’t feel bad,” she said.
Meanwhile, the actress also shared her hopes for her character in Season 8. While speaking with the same publication last month, Masterson said that she wants Tara to be stronger and fiercer so she could help more people.
“And to teach them how they can be and to really just bring everybody up on an even playing field and fight some more badass zombies… And obviously, you know, get rid of Negan and his army, that’s for sure,” she added.
“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. EDT.
