An Albanian actor and his wife plunged to their deaths from a Bronx apartment building on the former's birthday last weekend, according to reports.
Florind Belliu, 35, was caught on video falling from the sixth floor of 2199 Cruger Avenue and hitting the alleyway Saturday, the New York Post reported, citing police sources.
His wife, 28-year-old Ornela Shehi, landed seconds before him.
Both Belliu and Shehi were found in the apartment building's rear courtyard at around 9:15 a.m., sources said.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths were unclear.
Detectives were "investigating all possible angles," including double suicide and murder-suicide, police said in an earlier report by the Post.
Saturday was Belliu's birthday, according to Shadie Perkaj, the wife of the building's super.
He appeared angry the day before, neighbors and Perkaj said.
"I see [Belliu's] eyes are really wide, like he's angry, and he didn't answer me," claimed building worker Harold Johnson, who encountered Belliu and his wife at around 10:30 p.m. Friday.
While neighbors described the two deceased as a "quiet couple" who "kept to themselves," Belliu was often angry, "like mean," while Shehi was "quiet," according to Perkaj.
Police have never received reports of domestic violence related to Belliu and Shehi, according to sources. The couple moved into the apartment with their young children about four months ago.
Belliu had asked Johnson to cut his apartment window's guards before he and Shehi moved in, the building worker said
He also complained about not being able to open his apartment windows hours before he died, Perkaj noted.
A graduate of the University of Arts in the Albanian capital of Tirana, Belliu performed on television and in theater before moving to the United States, according to EuroNews Albania.
The aspiring filmmaker was reportedly working on two books and a movie script he hoped to pitch to Netflix as of two years ago.
Belliu might have been working as a cab driver recently to help make ends meet, according to police sources.
He was reported missing and "emotionally disturbed" back in April before being located by police in the 48th Precinct, sources said.
