Alex Morgan Pictures: The U.S. Women’s Soccer Player Is A Standout At The 2012 Olympics [PHOTOS]
Alex Morgan may be the most famous American female athlete at the 2012 Olympics.
One of the stars of the women's soccer team, Morgan's play has helped give the U.S. a very good chance of taking home the gold medal. She scored the game-winning goal against Canada on Monday to propel the team into the finals against Japan.
Team USA will get a chance to avenge its loss to Japan in the World Cup final from a year ago.
The 23-year-old joined the U.S. team in 2010, and went from coming off the bench to being one of the best players on the squad in a short period of time. She's been one of the best players in London, scoring three goals in five games.
Abby Wambach has been dominant for Team USA at the Games, scoring a goal in every contest.
Other than her prowess on the soccer field, Morgan has also gained notoriety for her looks. She appeared in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and was featured in the "bodypaint" section, along with swimmer Natalie Coughlin and golfer Natalie Gulbis.
Morgan and the U.S. will face Japan in the tournament's finale on Thursday at 2:45 p.m. ET.
