Yankees' Rodriguez faces six weeks out after surgery

New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez and movie star Cameron Diaz are no longer a couple, according to US Weekly.

They had been dating for more than a year, but broke up recently to focus on their careers, the magazine said.

She's very busy with her career, a source told US Weekly. And he's had injuries and wants to focus on his game. They're dedicated professionals.

The pair faced breakup rumors in July, but they were later spotted buying artwork together at several New York galleries.

US Weekly reports the two remain friendly and said Rodriguez has an enormous amount of respect for (Diaz).

Rodriguez has battled injuries througout the year and is now rehabbing an injured thumb. He had been rehabbing after the All-Star break from a left knee surgery in Miami and only recently rejoined the Yankees roster.

Rodriguez isn't the only Yankee star to end a high-profile relationship in recent weeks. Yankees captain Derek Jeter broke up last month with long-time girlfriend Minka Kelly just weeks after his 3,000 hits milestone.
