Alexander Skarsgard has only just begun filming “The Giver,” the feature adaption of Louis Lowry’s best-selling young adult novel of the same name, but rumors are already swirling of a possible off-screen love triangle between the 37-year-old actor and two of his female co-stars.

According to multiple reports, the “True Blood” star has not only recently started dating 23-year-old “Love Story" singer and fellow “The Giver” star Taylor Swift, he is also reportedly seeing his co-star Katie Holmes, 34, the former Mrs. Tom Cruise. According to a report from Star magazine last month, filmmakers involved in the upcoming sci-fi drama have witnessed both female stars fighting for attention from the Swedish native.

“Film insiders say that both women are vying to win [him] over,” stated the report via CelebDirtyLaundry, adding, “Taylor is like a giddy schoolgirl around Alex, and Katie is also very into him.”

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton further fueled the Skarsgard-Swift relationship rumors after reporting that the pair started dating before filming on location in South Africa began. “Before they left for Cape Town they had a couple of dinners in LA,” stated the report, adding, “[Skarsgard] is much older than the guys Taylor has dated in the past year, but maybe that’s where she’s going wrong.”

In response to the claims, an "insider" close to Swift told GossipCop the relationship rumors are “completely fabricated.” “Taylor never met Alexander before she arrived in South Africa and they’re not dating,” a rep for Swift later confirmed to UK's the Mirror.

In spite of denying their alleged relationship, Swift and Skarsgard were spotted leaving a restaurant after enjoying a meal in Cape Town with their “The Giver” castmates on Oct. 20, according to a report from JustJared.

A rep for Holmes has yet to confirm or deny the reports. The dating rumors come just weeks after she was seen getting cozy with her longtime friend Jamie Foxx at the fourth annual Apollo in the Hamptons benefit in East Hampton, N.Y. in August. Foxx, 45, addressed rumors the twosome were exclusive with Entertainment Tonight in October calling reports that they are dating "100 percent not true."

“The Giver” is the story of a young boy named Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) as he learns about the pain and pleasures of the real world while living in his utopian community with the help of a man that goes by the name of 'The Giver' (Jeff Bridges). Skarsgard and Holmes have signed on to play Jonas’s parents in the highly anticipated flick with Swift taking on the role of Jonas’s love interest, Rosemary. Oscar award-winning actress Meryl Streep will play the cameo role of Chief Elder. The film is currently scheduled for an August 2014 release.
