Alicia Keys To Drop Collab Track 'La La' With Swae Lee This Month
Alicia Keys is dropping a new single on Sept. 9. Titled "La La," the song is said to feature rapper, singer and songwriter Swae Lee.
Keys made the announcement about her collab with the 28-year-old Grammy nominee Wednesday via an Instagram post.
"New music. Timeless vibes. #LALA 9/9," the 40-year-old singer wrote.
The said post was accompanied by a side view portrait of Keys. The singer's hair was fixed in an elegant bun and she was wearing large gold jewelry in the photo. The word "Queen" flashed on her hoop earrings.
Meanwhile, her right hand could be seen holding her left shoulder. Interestingly, her fingertips were painted in gold, as if signifying she has the so-called Midas touch.
In the comments section of her post, Keys also wrote, "@mikewillmadeit feelings get lost in the #LALA," tagging record producer Michael Len Williams II known professionally as Mike Will Made It.
The record producer responded to Keys, writing, "BIG Keys." He then added a piano emoji followed by an arm wrestle emoji to his comment.
Two days before making the announcement, the "Empire State of Mind" singer teased her fans with a preview of "La La."
"Light the incense / Not to mention / Skin like whiskey / She's cold like on the rocks," Lee could be heard singing in the clip.
A day later, Keys stiched a video of herself singing to a clip showing two dancers grooving. In the background, the tune she had previously posted could be heard and it looked like all of them were simply feeling the track.
"This is a ZONEEEEEEE!!!! Can y'all teach me the #LaLa???" she captioned the post, which she also shared on her Twitter page.
Just recently, HarperCollins Publishers announced that "Girl on Fire," the young adult graphic novel which Keys co-wrote with Andrew Weiner and illustrated by Brittney Williams, is slated for release on March 1, 2022.
The graphic novel, which was adapted from Keys' 2012 hit of the same title, tells the story of 14-year-old Lolo Wright who gains confidence after finding out about her telekinetic powers.
"When I wrote 'Girl on Fire,' I knew I was writing it for that girl in the way back row who needed someone to tell her there's nothing you can't do, that nothing is impossible," Keys said as per Billboard. "When Andrew and I came up with the idea of translating the song into a young adult graphic novel, I knew that I wanted it to be about a girl coming to realize the strength she's always had."
"There's a little Lolo in all of us — we all have the power inside to do what we never even thought we could — and I'm so proud and crazy excited to be able to share her story with you. You’re going to fall in love with Lolo," Keys added.
