A self-proclaimed astrobiologist claims to have footage of a UFO flying near the International Space Station, indicating that aliens are “absolutely” interested in both the space facility and the astronauts inside it.

Prominent UFO hunter Scott Waring claimed to have captured a video showing a strange pulsating light near the ISS, the Express reported. He detailed his findings in an entry on the ET Database.

Waring claimed he was able to record footage of the light using “the old cams and not the new cams.” Furthermore, he claimed this light is actually a UFO that changes its color while it moves past the ISS slowly. He adds that the UFO appears to have a flat bottom, a curved top and curved sides.

The video, which is over six minutes long, showed some “serious close up” of a UFO that, according to him, is something that NASA keeps hiding from the public eye.

This UFO, he said, is “absolute proof” that aliens are very interested in the international space station and also shows how astronauts deal with “the unique environment of space.”

An actual NASA employee’s perspective

The “light” featured in the photo is but one of the things alien hunters are looking for. These things, according to former NASA employee James Oberg, are sometimes nothing but what is called “space dandruff.”

In an interview with Atlas Obscura way back in 2016, Oberg, who worked at mission Control in the late 90’s, said some of the “lights” in space that people on the Earth’s surface have theorized as rogue satellites or alien spacecrafts are nothing but debris.

The “lights” or “dots” in the sky are almost always difficult to identify since they’re far from the surface. Astronauts onboard space shuttles, however see them. They are “ice flakes, fragments of insulation, or other bits and pieces that have peeled off the shuttle” and are recorded by backward-facing cameras mounted on the spacecraft.

Oberg also offered some explanation about what UFO hunters often call “UFO sightings” or “encounters” in his own website. He said many of the published claims are nothing but fantasies, and most of the videos and photographs alien hunters consider “evidence” are but the results of the limitations of both hardware and human perception.
