‘Alien vs. Predator’ Facebook Game Campaign Coming To ‘Soldiers Inc.’
Twentieth Century Fox is teaming up with Israeli mobile and social game developer Plarium to bring the “Alien vs. Predator” franchise to Facebook games, Plarium announced in a statement on Monday.
“Alien vs. Predator” is the science fiction horror crossover of two iconic movie franchises, Ridley Scott’s “Alien,” which was released in 1979, and John McTiernan’s “Predator” from 1987. The first “Alien vs. Predator” movie was released in 2004 and the second, “Alien vs. Predator: Requiem,” in 2007.
The franchise will be included as a new separate campaign in Plarium’s strategy Facebook game “Soldiers Inc.,” which it says now has 85 million total players since launching in August 2013.
Known as an MMO, or massively multiplayer online game, “Soldiers Inc.” is set in 2019 in the fictional world of Zandia, where resources are scarce and companies and underground criminal organizations are fighting for rare minerals.
“ ‘Soldiers, Inc.’ has the perfect mixture of thrilling and engaging gameplay that is perfectly in step with the Alien vs. Predator franchise,” said Mike Doyle, VP of Interactive Games at Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, in a statement. “We look forward to bringing fans the ability to immerse themselves in a game experience that incorporates the franchise’s high-octane excitement and takes it to another level.”
Plarium says the “Alien vs. Predator” campaign will be “fully voiced,” and sees players investigating a temple to remove resources before a thermonuclear detonation.
The campaign will also include a multi-mission story arc, side missions, a series of global missions, collectable in-game items and boosts all centered around the “Alien vs. Predator” theme.
The "Alien vs. Predator" campaign for "Soldiers Inc." does not yet have a set release date, but should hopefully be out by the end of the year.
