Alison Pill On Nude Photo Blunder: It Was 'Dumb,' 'Hideously Embarrassing' [VIDEO]
Alison Pill regrets that she accidentally posted a nude, topless photo of herself on Twitter. Unlike stars like Scarlett Johansson and Christina Hendricks, whose phones were broken into, Pill took the blame for her nudies being posted to the Internet for all to see. The “Newsroom” star recently sat down with Conan O’Brien on his late-night show to talk about her blunder, which happened a year ago.
When O’Brien asked why she would carry such risqué material on her cell phone, considering many celebrities had been hacked, Pill said she had been away from fiancé Jay Baruchel.
"I don't know. It's a dumb thing to do, I suppose," she continued. "And now, I've realized just how dumb. And so embarrassing, so hideously embarrassing, that for about three months after it happened I couldn't... every time I met a new person I [kept thinking], 'Boobs! Nice to meet you, you've seen my boobs.' It's not even the case."
How did this intimate image wind up for public consumption to begin with? Pill said it all came down to a BlackBerry snafu.
"It's a fascinating story involving not knowing that my new BlackBerry had a touchscreen and responding to somebody on Twitter," Pill said of the topless gaffe. "Like, 'Oh yeah, New York was great. It's 9:30 on a Wednesday. Also, apropos of nothing, here are my boobs!'"
When the mistake occurred last year, Pill quickly apologized to her followers on her social media account. "Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet... Apologies," she tweeted to her 14,000 followers.
Pill shouldn’t get too hard on herself, however. Paramore’s frontwoman Haley Williams also accidentally posted a picture of her bare breasts to her followers. Though both ladies have deleted the images, they still live on the Internet.
Since that photo pratfall, Pill has yet to commit a similar blunder. It seems she has truly stepped up her “techie” game.
