An alleged hitman in Philadelphia has been charged with the murder of four people over nine months. Steven Williams, 25 is accused of committing the killings between September 2018 and May of 2019 in exchange for thousands of dollars.

Philadelphia District Attorney, Larry Krasner stated the streak of wanton violent crimes against the communities over the last two years has come to an end.

According to the New York Post, Williams, who is from Philadelphia, was already in custody at a Pennsylvania state prison on unrelated charges. He was linked to the four murders because of the murder weapons.

However, he initially denied any connection with the killings. When he was informed that the evidence was against him, he indicated that other people were conspiring to make him the patsy.

Police first informed the newspaper the first victim, William Crawford, 35, was shot in September 2018 as he got out of his vehicle in the Rhawnhurst section of the city.

Williams was also charged with the killing of Jermaine Simmons, 39, who was shot in February 2019 as he sat in a parked vehicle on West Oak Lane. Richard Isaac, 31, died after being shot in the head in March 2019 in East Mount Airy.

The fourth victim, Leslie Carroll, 46, was shot in the Francisville section as he sat in his son’s vehicle in May 2019. A law enforcement source claimed Williams was part of a group that killed people for money.

When someone approaches a member of the group, they do not care about the identity of the individual or the reason why. They only care about remuneration.

The investigation into the contract killings is still ongoing though the Philadelphia Defender Association spokesperson, representing the alleged killer, declined to comment on the charges.
