Amal Clooney Shows Off Chic Gray Minidress At Berlin Airport, Meets Angela Merkel
Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, along with her actor husband George Clooney, was pictured at the Tegel airport in Berlin on Friday. She showed off her gray minidress while taking a flight to London. The couple was supposed to celebrate Valentine’s Day in London.
The 38-year-old attorney looked chic in a gray, purple and black horizontal-striped minidress. She paired it with sheer black tights and a black coat. She also carried her Altuzarra Ghianda bullrope bag and completed her look in matching booties.
Her brunette tresses were left loose in her signature glossy blowout, while she wore oversize glares and red lipstick. George rocked red shades, a black leather motorbike jacket, blue jeans and beige suede shoes.
The couple had a private meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday. They met the chancellor to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis and Europe’s efforts to help them. The A-list couple attended the opening of the Berlin Film Festival to promote George’s new film, “Hail, Caesar!”
For the meeting, Amal was dressed in Oscar de la Renta. The stylish yet business ensemble consisted of an A-line black skirt by the design house that she paired with a camel- and black-colored knitted pullover.
Both are from the designer’s Pre Fall 2016 collection. The attorney covered up in a black long coat by Versace from the fashion house’s Pre Fall 2015 collection. The coat belongs to the collection’s Look 25.
The ankle-length coat featured pointed collar, long sleeves, two oversize pockets and a slit near the thigh. It also had a striking cross and dash pattern in white. Amal also carried a black handbag by Dior. She completed her look in a pair of leopard-printed block heels.
Amal’s shoes are from Sarah Flint's Emma range. The British-Lebanese lawyer accessorized with small drop earrings and sunglasses. Her long tresses were kept side parted into her signature bouncy blowout. She kept her makeup simple for the meeting with a hint of nude lipstick.
The Clooneys were accompanied by David Miliband, the former British foreign secretary who now heads the aid group International Rescue Committee. “We (...) talked about the responsibilities of all states, not just European states but states around the world to deal with what is a global problem, not just a Syrian problem or a German issue,” Miliband told the Associated Press after the meeting at Merkel’s office.
Miliband, who is a close friend of the Clooneys, said that the idea of meeting Merkel was the actor’s. Meanwhile, the German chancellor has been applauded as well as criticized for letting hundreds of thousands of refugees enter the country over the past year. She told reporters after the meeting that she had “a very good conversation” with the Clooneys and Miliband and exchanged ideas as to how aid groups and governments could cooperate to encourage citizens to volunteer to help refugees.
