Nickelodeon stars really stick together. In light of the recent drama surrounding retired actress Amanda Bynes, her former “All That” co-star is speaking out and defending her from the recent backlash she received ... specifically from Lindsay Lohan.

Those following the latest media obsession with Amanda Bynes are well aware that after many driving snafus (including a DUI, multiple hit-and-runs, and driving with a suspended license), the former actress had her car impounded. The “Liz & Dick” star and former fellow child actor Lindsay Lohan didn’t really agree with how the police were handling the Bynes situation, and took to Twitter to vent.

“Why did I get put in jail and a Nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” Lohan tweeted. The actress later followed up the comment by stating, “These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living with regrets and Disney supporting me as an actress.”

While Bynes has not fired back at Lohan for her Twitter remarks, her old Nickelodeon pal has come to her defense. TMZ caught up with Danny Tamberelli, the red head on teen comedy sketch show “All That” and the youngest Pete of “Pete & Pete,” to see what he thinks of Linsday’s Twitter attack on his former co-star.

According to Tamberelli, “Given her own history with the law, it’s absurd that [Lindsay] would be quick to judge another young woman under this kind of public scrutiny.” As for Nickelodeon, the former child star says that the network “was nothing short of amazing to work for and they had their watchful eye on us all.”

The former Pete, who like Bynes has retired from acting, currently plays bass for his band Jounce. Tamberelli added that he’s “very sorry to hear about Amanda’s recent trouble with the law,” and “hopes she can find the support she needs to work through any issues that may be going on.”

Bynes will reportedly be getting the support of her parents soon, who are rumored to be selling their home in Texas to move closer to their daughter in California.

The former actress spoke with People.com earlier this week, informing them that she’s “doing amazing.” Furthermore, Bynes told the entertainment news site a little more about what her future holds.
“I am retired as an actor,” she confirmed. “I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line.”

As for her recent troubles with the law, Bynes told People, “I’m not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don’t drink, and I don’ drink and drive. It’s all false.”

Lohan on the other hand was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning for allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run with a pedestrian outside of a New York City hotel. According to TMZ, sources close to Amanda Bynes reveal that the aspiring fashion designer feels that Lohan's arrest is “what she gets” for her tweets.
