The National Basketball Association (NBA) and China are in a flailing relationship courtesy of Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey. The issue became worse when league commissioner Adam Silver said that the Rockets GM was entitled to his opinion. From there, everything just turned sour.

There are repercussions for the whole row. As previously reported, the preseason games between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets may be scrapped. Silver is making a last-ditch stand to try and mend ties with the Chinese. He hopes to iron things out with retired NBA star Yao Ming and get things back in order. Right now, it appears that it will take a lot for the NBA commissioner to mend broken ties.

In the event that Silver's mission falters, there is someone willing to help. Dennis Rodman is no stranger when it comes to making peace. The retired NBA star is willing to step in. He posted a video on Twitter calling on the NBA to put him on the next flight to China. The five-time NBA champion believes he can resolve the situation, TMZ Sports reported.

"Commissioner Adam Silver, I know a thing or two about diplomacy. Book me a ticket to Shanghai with you, Ambassador Rodman."

Stepping in and acting as a peacemaker is nothing new for the man also known as "The Worm". He took the liberty of talking to North Korean head of state Kim Jong Un in an effort to make peace. Rodman also holds close ties with US President Donald Trump. As of this writing, both sides have yet to come to an agreement. But the main thing here is that records have been set straight.

In a way, that and talks between Silver and China are likely to follow the same course. Many feel that it would take more than one visit to fix the broken relationship. Rodman as mediator could work -- ironically the opposite of how he was during his NBA days.
