Amber Alert For 3-Year-Old Ella Abbott After Mother Threatened To Harm Child
Amber alerts have been issued by the Massachusetts State Police and Worcester Police Department for 3-year-old Ella Abbott, who went missing around 7:45 p.m. EDT Wednesday.
According to the state police, Abbott was taken by her mother, Leeann Rickheit, from a residence in 339 Greenwood Street in Worcester. Before taking the child, Rickheit had threatened to harm her, police said.
The child was believed to be in “extreme danger,” reported the Boston Globe.
However, the alerts issued by the local and state police departments differed regarding some details of the missing child.
According to the state police, Abbott is a white girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She is three feet tall and weighs around 40 pounds. She was last seen wearing a purple or dark colored top.
In the amber alert issued by the local police department, Abbott is described as a “light skinned black female, last seen wearing a white and pink polka dot shirt.”

The two police departments even differed in the description of the mother.
Rickheit was described by the state police as a 38-year-old white female with light brown hair and blue eyes. She is five feet eleven inches tall, and weighs around 170 pounds, the state police said. However, according to the Worcester Police, Rickheit is a dirty blonde with a large build.
Rickheit is believed to be driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with a Massachusetts registration number — 4PG367. She was last seen heading toward Mass Pike in the Charlton area, police said.
People who come across any information regarding the whereabouts of Abbott have been requested to contact Worcester Police Department at (508) 799-8606 or dial 911.

Police said Rickheit has a history of extortion, assault and battery, unarmed robbery and receiving stolen property. According to a 2013 Facebook post by Worcester Police Department, Rickheit crashed into two other vehicles in the area of Main and Madison Streets and fled the scene following an incident Feb. 9, 2013.
During the 2013 incident, after half an hour of the description of the suspect being broadcast on radio, two officers working the private detail found Rickheit walking on Worcester Center Boulevard. When the police cornered her, Rickheit pulled out what looked like a silver revolver from her coat and threatened to shoot the officers.
She fled the scene, but was caught and overpowered by the officers soon after. She resisted arrest and refused to comply with police commands. It was discovered she was carrying a plastic replica of a semi-automatic handgun. Rickheit was charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
Another amber alert was issued by the Massachusetts State Police this July 9 for 21-month-old Jandel Calcorzi, who was believed to have been taken by his father from his mother’s home in Chicopee, following a violent domestic assault. The alert was called off after the child was located unharmed at the White Swan Motel in Newington, Connecticut.
