Virginia State Police have issued an Amber Alert for two children abducted by their father from a Walmart in Hampton on Sunday. The toddlers aged 1 and 2 are believed to be in extreme danger, police said Monday.

The investigators said the father, identified as 36-year-old Timothy Paul Truitt from Newport News, kidnapped the kids while he was with the children's legal guardian at a Walmart in Cunningham Drive, Daily Press reported.

The abduction happened after Timothy, along with an unidentified man, managed to separate the kids from the legal guardian and walked out of the store carrying the toddlers, Hampton Police said in a news release Sunday.

According to reports, the unidentified man took the 2-year-old boy, Jaxon Truitt, and Timothy carried his daughter, 1-year-old Adriana Truitt, in a car seat out to the parking lot before they fled the scene in a maroon Kia sedan.

"The children are believed to be in extreme danger and were last seen at Walmart, 1900 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, VA," Virginia State Police said in a news release announcing the Amber Alert.

Adriana is described as 2 feet tall, with sandy hair, and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white long sleeve onesie, gray sweatpants, and red, white, and blue baseball socks.

Jaxon is a biracial boy with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 3 feet tall and was last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt with "Born to win" in red text, black sweatpants, and gray and blue sneakers, police said.

Timothy is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes, 6' 1" tall, and weighing 175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a yellow logo on the chest, gray shorts, and white shoes.

Apart from the Kia sedan with the Virginia license plate number USN20YR, Timothy also drives a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, police said.

Meanwhile, the investigators have not revealed further details about the unidentified man, who reportedly helped Timothy with the abduction.

According to court records, Timothy is a registered sex offender who was convicted in 2017 of incest and taking indecent liberties with a minor. He was convicted again last year for failing to register as a sex offender in Newport News.

The investigators now request anyone with information about Timothy or the toddlers to contact the Hampton Police Division at (757) 727-6111.
