Amber Heard Slammed After Johnny Depp Details Ex’s ‘Need For Violence’ During Trial
Actress Amber Heard is facing a wave of backlash online after Johnny Depp shared details about their marriage in the defamation lawsuit trial against his ex-wife.
On Wednesday, Depp continued his testimony in which he claimed Heard started arguments that would sometimes turn violent.
“It was not meant to help the relationship it was meant to feed her need for conflict,” Depp said. “She has a need for conflict, she has a need for violence. It erupts out of nowhere.”
Depp claimed he would often try to walk away from arguments where Heard would sometimes throw an object or shove or slap him.
“It’s hard to explain but the argument would start here but it would roll around and become this circular thing of its own,” Depp said.
“You’d get back to the beginning … now it’s heightened even more and it’s still circular, there’s no way in or out.”
As Depp testified, Heard’s first name began trending on Twitter, with social media users supporting the 58-year-old actor and slamming Heard over her allegedly abusive behavior.
“Amber Heard tarnished Johnny Depp’s good name, abused him, and made him re-live the nightmares of his childhood and adult life. She forced him to go to court, to speak in front of the public to set the record straight that he is NOT AN ABUSER. #IStandWithJohnnyDepp,” one user posted.
Another user suggested Depp was the only person in the couple’s marriage who was a victim of abuse.
“Keep Letting it be known that, Amber Heard manipulated, tormented & abused mentally & physically, Johnny Depp. Sabotaging his career, his image, family & name. There is only one victim here, and it isn’t her. #IStandWithJohnnyDepp,” the user posted.
Depp is suing Heard after she wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post in 2018 about how she became a public figure as a victim of domestic.
Even though Heard did not name Depp in the article, his legal team claimed that she referenced allegations that she used against him in 2016 during their divorce.
