Amber Heard Steps Out With Daughter In First Sighting After Johnny Depp's Legal Win
KEY POINTS
- Amber Heard enjoyed a stroll with her daughter Oonagh in north London over the weekend
- The "Aquaman" star was photographed pushing her daughter's stroller in a sleeveless blouse, blue jeans and sneakers
- Heard quietly welcomed her baby via surrogate in April
Amber Heard was spotted out and about with her baby girl in the U.K. over the weekend.
On Saturday, the "Aquaman" star was photographed enjoying a stroll in London with her infant daughter, Oonagh, Page Six reported. They were joined by her friend Eve Barlow.
In photos published by the outlet, Heard, 35, was all smiles while pushing Oonagh's stroller. She wore a white sleeveless top and blue jeans for the outing. She completed her getup with a pair of sneakers.
Heard quietly welcomed her baby via surrogate in April. She chose the middle name Paige after her late mother, who passed away last year.
She opted for surrogacy after being told that she would never be able to carry her own baby, anonymous friends of the actress told Page Six at the time.
"Oonagh is absolutely gorgeous, and Amber is besotted. She always knew that she wanted to be a mom, and this is her greatest wish come true. She’s so grateful to the wonderful woman who helped bring Oonagh into her life," the outlet quoted one insider as saying in July.
The source continued, "The most important thing for Amber is that she’s open about Oonagh’s birth. There are so many women who feel they can’t talk about their fertility and are worried and embarrassed; Amber wants them to feel supported and realize that there are a multitude of ways to have a baby even if you have fertility issues."
Heard's London sighting came a day before her ex-husband Johnny Depp made a red carpet appearance at the Deauville Film Festival in France, the outlet noted. He attended a screening of his film "City of Lies."
The actress' recent outing also marked one of her first public sightings after Depp scored a victory in their ongoing legal battle. A judge ruled that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star can pursue a libel case against his ex-wife over a piece she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018. Heard did not name Depp in the op-ed but alleged that she was a victim of abuse. Depp has vehemently denied the allegations.
Depp also scored a win earlier in August when a judge partially granted his petition to force the American Civil Rights Liberties Union (ACLU) to release documents confirming whether or not Heard followed through on her pledge to donate half of her $7 million divorce settlement to them.
Heard promised to donate all the money she received from her divorce from Depp. She vowed to split the amount between ACLU and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA).
Judge Andrew Nichol cited the gesture as he made the decision in Depp's defamation case against British tabloid The Sun. In that case, the judge sided with The Sun, arguing in his decision, "Her donation of the $7 million to charity is hardly the act one would expect of a gold-digger," E! News reported.
However, Depp's lawyer Andrew Caldecott claimed that the donation pledge was "calculated and manipulative lie" that "tipped the scales against Mr. Depp from the very beginning."
