Amber Heard's Demand For Johnny Depp Mental Health Evaluation Revisited Amid Leaked Recordings
KEY POINTS
- Amber Heard want Johnny Depp to be forced to undergo a mental health evaluation
- Amber Heard painted on bruises to get a temporary restraining order from Johnny Depp
- Netizens want Amber Heard to be removed from "Aquaman" movie
Amber Heard shockingly wanted Johnny Depp to be forced to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Heard and Depp have separated for over three years already. However, the exes’ controversial split has gotten the interest of the public again after Heard’s audio recording admitting that she hit her ex-husband leaked because when they split it was Heard who claimed that Depp abused her.
Based on the legal documents obtained by The Blast, Heard requested the court to force Depp to undergo a mental health examination. She wanted mental health professionals to conduct an “Independent Mental Evaluation” (IME) on the actor. The latter claimed that she was just “victim-blaming” him.
“Johnny's relationship with reality oscillates, depending upon his interaction with alcohol and drugs,” Heard wrote in the court documents. “As Johnny's paranoia, delusions and aggression increased throughout our relationship, so has my awareness of his continued substance abuse.”
Depp’s team replied to the request and filed a document insisting that the “Aquaman” actress’ request is an intrusion of privacy. Depp’s legal team added that what occurred between them when they were still together had nothing to do with Depp’s current mental state.
“This is a defamation case in which Mr. Depp does not allege that he suffers from any mental disorder or condition. Thus, Mr. Depp's mental condition is not 'in controversy' nor does good cause exist under the rule for an IME of Mr. Depp,” Depp’s lawyer wrote in their response letter for Heard’s request.
“It is preposterous notion that an IME now would shed light on Mr. Depp's mental state at the time of Ms. Heard's abuse hoax back in 2016. Ms. Heard's effort treads a well-worn path of victim blaming using the pretext of mental health.”
Depp’s attorney, Adam Waldman, also said in a statement that they were interested in getting James Franco and Elon Musk as fact witnesses because they saw Heard’s face between the days she claimed that Depp smashed her in the face and when she showed up in the court with “painting on bruises” to obtain a temporary restraining order.
Online users have petitioned that Heard be removed in the movie “Aquaman.” Many are convinced that Depp was removed in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” due to her allegations, so it is just fitting to have her lost her job because she also ruined Depp’s career.
