Amber Portwood To Get Married On 'Teen Mom OG'? MTV Star Reportedly Planning TV Wedding With Fiancé Matt Baier
It looks like another “Teen Mom” star is ready to tie the knot. Just weeks after announcing her engagement to fiancé Matt Baier, “Teen Mom OG” lead Amber Portwood is reportedly already in full-planning mode for their upcoming wedding, and just like her day-to-day life, Amber is said to be hoping to televise the momentous occasion.
“Amber really likes the idea of a TV wedding,” an insider dished to In Touch Weekly in their April 6 issue. “It’s going to be such a special moment in her life and Amber really wants to share it with her fans.”
While no plans for a “Teen Mom OG” wedding special have been announced by MTV, the source shared that Amber — who reportedly wants to tie the knot this fall — is hopeful that the network will pay for her trip down the aisle if she agrees to film it. “She hopes MTV will film her wedding so that they can help her foot the bill,” said the insider.
Whether or not Amber, 24, and Matt, 43, marry in front of “Teen Mom” cameras, the MTV reality star does reportedly have other plans for her and her fiancé’s nuptials. The magazine claims that Amber wants her 6-year-old daughter Leah she shares with ex-fiancé and co-star Gary Shirley to serve as her flower girl.
Not only has Amber already decided on at least one member of her wedding party, she is also rumored to have determined the style and designer behind her dream wedding gown. According to In Touch Weekly, Amber has her heart set on sporting a lace Vera Wang mermaid-style dress.
A rumored TV wedding isn’t the only thing on Amber’s plate. On Wednesday, the MTV star announced that starting April 7, she will be headed back to school. “So excited and ready to move forward with my life,” she wrote. Amber’s decision to start college comes on the heels of her 2011 17-month stint in prison for drug possession charges. During her time behind bars, she earned her G.E.D.
Amber confirmed her engaged to Matt, a professional poker player, earlier this month after his proposal to her was featured on the “Teen Mom OG” trailer. “My life now with my new fiancé is amazing,” she gushed to E! News.
Contradictory to In Touch Weekly’s report, Amber recently told People Magazine that she isn't in any rush to get married. “We wanted to be engaged for at least a year before we really jump into anything,” she shared. “We want everything in place.”
“Teen Mom OG,” originally titled “Teen Mom,” airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT on MTV.
