A little girl got severely injured by her grandfather’s dog at a house in Flintshire, North Wales over the weekend. The baby was then airlifted to the Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool which specializes in treating children. She was reportedly bitten on the head by a raging Staffordshire Bull Terrier that her grandfather owns.

The incident that happened on Saturday, August 31, left everyone aghast, especially the granddad who spoke to the media looking devastated. The tot is receiving treatment in hospital and slowly recovering. As speaking with North Wales Live, the granddad who didn’t want to be named confirmed the incident. He directly spoke from the attack site where he said the baby was playing when the dog let itself loose on her. "The baby was playing in the back room when she banged her finger and screamed. The dog then bit her on the head," Birmingham mail quoted the man as saying.

The man further revealed that the baby girl is recovering. However, the enraged granddad assured that the dog, called Duke, will soon be eliminated for its misdemeanor- “I have signed the dog over. It is going to be destroyed,” he said. He also extended his gratitude to the emergency services for their prompt response.

According to a spokesman from the North Wales Police (NWP) following the incident, "North Wales Police and the Air Ambulance were called to a property at Mynydd Isa around 4.45pm (Saturday the 31 August) following an incident involving a dog attack.” "Police are carrying out house to house enquiries in the area," he went on to add.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said, "We were called at 4.30pm and a casualty was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital."

In an equally notorious incident, a 72-year-old-woman was gravely injured following a dog attack in the vicinity of Engine Fields, New York. She was then immediately rushed to Leeds General where she received treatment and recovered over time.
