‘American Horror Story: Apocalypse’: Ryan Murphy Fuels ‘Murder House’ Baby Killer Theory
“American Horror Story” fans were treated to a major spoiler when Ryan Murphy revealed the latest actor cast in Season 8 of the anthology series. However, the announcement also sparked a theory that connected the new role to “AHS: Murder House.”
Details about “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” are being kept under wraps. Nonetheless, loyal fans have been piecing clues together ever since Murphy confirmed this season will feature a crossover from “Murder House” and “Coven.”
On Thursday, the director revealed Cody Fern will be playing the role of Michael Langdon when the series premieres this fall. Fans of the show may recall that Michael is not a new character--he was actually born during “Murder House.”
During “American Horror Story” Season 1, Tate Langdon (Evan Peters) dressed up in a Rubber Man suit and raped Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton), who initially thought she was being intimate with her husband, Ben (Dylan McDermott).
Vivien later found out she was pregnant with twins. However, they had different fathers. When she gave birth, her son with Ben died, but her son with Tate lived.
After Vivien died due to complications during the deliveries, Michael was taken away to live with his grandmother, Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange).
Three years later, the two settled into a life away from the murder house, only for Constance to return home one day and discover the toddler had murdered his nanny.
Considering Michael began killing at a young age, and his father was mentally disturbed and extremely violent, the young man may just follow in his footsteps.
E! News noted that although Michael was a baby when viewers last saw him, there could be a significant time jump that will allow his age to coincide with Fern’s mature appearance.
Sarah Paulson, who portrayed a medium, Billie Dean Howard, on “American Horror Story: Murder House,” is expected to appear in Season 8 of the series.
While Billie Dean has the potential to connect Michael with his late father, who could provide him with clever ways to kill, the actress’ return could have a different result.
Paulson also played Cordelia Goode in “AHS: Coven,” and the character was last seen stepping into the role of the Supreme witch of the Coven of Salem descendants.
If Cordelia appears on Season 8, she could use her powers to stop Michael’s evil streak. Of course, there is also a chance Paulson could be cast in a completely different role.
Fans will just have to wait for answers when “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 12 on FX.
