‘American Horror Story: Cult’ Halloween Spoilers: What Will Happen On Episode 9?
“American Horror Story: Cult” shows no signs of toning down the creepy and violent themes this season, and it looks like the upcoming Halloween episode of the FX series will be especially disturbing. While it is clear that Kai will do anything for power, it looks like his latest decision as a cult leader on episode 9, “Drink the Kool-Aid,” will be his most cruel one yet.
Before tuning into the FX series, check out these 3 things you should expect to see in “AHS: Cult,” episode 9.
1. Kai Begins To Carry Out A Deadly Plan
In the promo for “American Horror Story: Cult” episode 9, Kai (Evan Peters) is seen talking to his followers, asking them what would they do if he asked them to make the ultimate sacrifice for him. One member of the group replies by telling the leader that he would do whatever he was told and with a smile on his face.
Kai is later seen stirring a liquid in a large pot and pouring the contents into small cups. The title of the episode, “Drink the Kool-Aid” refers to a phrase associated with going along with something that is dangerous due to loyalty or unquestioning obedience to someone and something.
The phrase originates from the Jonestowns death in which followers of Jim Jones died by drinking a powdered flavored drink mixed with poison and prescription drugs.
While it is unclear whether Kai is planning a mass suicide, Peters is expected to portray Jones during this season of “American Horror Story,” and it looks like the upcoming episode will be the stage for the story.
2. Ally And Ivy’s Son Is In Danger
In the promo, Kai can be seen having a truth session with Oz (Cooper Dodson), explaining to the young boy that he wants to tell him a secret. Although it is unclear what he will discuss with the child, Kai later hands Oz one of the cups he was seen pouring the mysterious liquid into. Is Kai planning on killing Ally (Sarah Paulson) and Ivy’s (Alison Pill) son?
3. Ally Is Using Kai
In the promo, Ivy looks hysterical as she tells Ally that everything he touches dies, most likely referring to Kai. Since becoming a part of Kai’s cult, it seems like Ivy has had serious doubts about the violent group and how they achieve their goals.
However, Ally, who has only been in the cult for a short period, looks to be satisfied with her place in the group, which begs the question of whether she has ulterior motives. During a conversation, Kai asks Ally where her wife is and she replies, “Who?” as if she no longer wants to be associated with her.
However, she is also later seen pleading with what looks to be a nurse, begging her for help because her “son’s life depends on it.” Could Ally be attempting to save Oz from the cult or did she fail to stop her child from drinking the Kool-Aid?
“American Horror Story: Cult” episode 9 airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
