‘American Horror Story: Cult’ — Meet Season 7 Cast Ahead Of FX Premiere
After months of waiting and countless spoilers, FX will finally air “American Horror Story: Cult” on Tuesday. Showrunner Ryan Murphy has been teasing “AHS” Season 7 since early summer and the anthology series will make its return to the small screen in its most terrifying installment yet.
Before tuning into the highly anticipated series, viewers should take the time to meet the characters that will be taking center stage this season.
Sarah Paulson as Ally Mayfair-Richards
Ally is a woman who lives in suburban Michigan with her wife Ivy and their son, Oz. Ally suffers from several phobias including, coulrophobia, the specific fear of clowns, hemophobia, an extreme and irrational fear of blood, and trypophobia, an extreme fear of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps.
Evan Peters as Kai Anderson
Peter’s character will be a representation of several infamous cult leaders including Charles Manson, Jim Jones and David Koresh. Kai will feel empowered by Trump’s win and will be inspired to run for city council and work his way up to U.S. Senate. In the middle of all of the mayhem, Murphy has said Ally and Kai will manage to have “a love story for the ages.”
Alison Pill as Ivy Mayfair-Richards
Ivy and Ally own the local restaurant called The Butchery on Main. Although there is no proof Ivy is a killer, Pill’s cast photo features her character holding a bloody knife, and this season there will be a slew of murders in which the killer or killers will leave crimson happy faces at the crime scene.
Billie Lourd as Winter Anderson
Winter is Kai’s sister who is hired to babysit Ally and Ivy’s son. Although it is normal for working parents to hire a caretaker for their child, in a promo for the upcoming series, Winter can be seen telling her brother that she hates children. She is later seen gifting the couple’s son with a Twisty the Clown doll. Although she was brought on to look after the child, it looks like Winter has ulterior motives when it comes to spending time at Mayfair-Richards’ home.
Cheyenne Jackson as Dr. Rudy Vincent
Dr. Vincent is Ally’s therapist who is helping her deal with her many phobias.
Billy Eichner as Harrison Wilton
Eichner makes up one half of Ally’s odd neighbors. Harrison is a beekeeper who recently moved into the Mayfair-Richards’ neighborhood.
Leslie Grossman as Meadow Wilton
Meadow makes up the other half of the weird neighbors who happen to have a massive stash of guns in their home.
Colton Haynes as Detective Samuels
Although not much is known about Haynes’ character, considering the there is expected to be a string of murders this season, it is likely that Detective Samuels will be investigating the various cases. Murphy hinted that Samuels may also come in contact with Winter by posting a photo of the two characters together.
Adina Portner as Beverly Hope
Beverly is a local newscaster who will lose out on a job opportunity due to a co-worker’s go-getter attitude.
Emma Roberts as Serina Belinda
Murphy revealed that Roberts will return for one episode where she will get the edge over Beverley Hope. “She plays a Michigan newscaster named Serina Belinda who is promoted above Adina Porter’s character simply because she’s much more superficial and willing to do what it takes to survive,” he said during a Q&A.
Lena Dunham as Valerie Solanas
The character is actually based off of a real person, the woman who attempted to shoot Andy Warhol. Valerie’s appearance on the series will represent female rage, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Lena Dunham is playing Valerie Solanas, who attempted to shoot Andy Warhol because she felt denied the cult of personality that was Warhol and the Factory at the time,” Murphy revealed.
John Carroll Lynch as Twisty the Clown
Lynch is no stranger to the “AHS” franchise. The actor appeared in Season 4’s “Freak Show” as the killer clown and Murphy teased his return on July 10 when he shared a photo of a Twisty the Clown comic book. “He’s Baaaaaack,” he captioned the picture.
Following an early screening of the new episodes in August, Murphy shared a few details about Lynch’s character who in Season 7 will not only have his own comic book series but will also have a collector’s doll. “Twisty, Bloody Face, Rubber Man, Piggy Man, all of those characters come and go within the cycle of the show,” Murphy explained.
“It’s the meta idea that Twisty has his own comic book and that could be one of Sarah Paulson’s [character’s] phobias,” he added
Mare Winningham and Frances Conroy are both expected to appear in Season 7 in unknown roles.
“American Horror Story: Cult” premieres Tuesday at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
