'American Horror Story: Hotel' Has Yet Another Surprising Connection To The Season 1 'Murder House'
Welcome to the Cortez Hotel, Billie Dean Howard! On Wednesday, it was revealed that Sarah Paulson’s character from Season 1 of "American Horror Story," the L.A. Murder House, would be making her way to James March’s (Evan Peters) blood-stained establishment in the season finale of “AHS: Hotel.” (Paulson also portrays Sally in Season 5 of the horror series.)
Long-time fans of the FX anthology will remember that Billie Dean is a psychic medium who was hired by Constance (Jessica Lange) on Craigslist to help the soul of her disturbed son Tate (Peters) move on to the next realm. It was during one of Billie Dean’s visits to Constance’s home that she revealed she was in the process of shooting a reality show for Lifetime. And it looks like fans will finally get to see Billie Dean’s long-awaited series when she begins filming in the Cortez!
Entertainment Weekly revealed that the reason Paulson’s Season 1 character makes her way to the hotel is because she believes it’s the perfect setting for an episode of her very own reality series. (Guess Billie Dean isn’t a quack after all considering the hotel is buzzing with supernatural activity.)
However, we do fear for Billie Dean’s life considering it was only a few episodes ago that another character from “Murder House” was gruesomely slayed inside the hotel. Marcy (Christine Estabrook), the realtor who sold the Harmons their haunted house in the first installment, made her way to the Cortez in Season 5 to facilitate the transfer of ownership of the Cortez from The Countess (Lady Gaga) to Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson). It was during her stay at the hotel that Marcy, who managed to somehow survive “Murder House,” was attacked and killed by Rudy (Finn Wittrock) and Natasha (Alexandra Daddario) -- hungry vampires who were trapped within the wall of the Cortez by March for centuries.
Marcy wasn’t the only Season 1 connection made during the airing of “Hotel.” Fans also learned how the Infantata was created after it was revealed The Countess, who had already been turned into a vampire at this point, attempted to abort her pregnancy with the help of Dr. Montgomery (Matt Ross) who was living at the murder house. However, the deformed child, which The Countess named Bartholomew, managed to survive the operation. He currently lives in Room 33 of the Cortez.
How do you think Billie Dean’s reprisal will play out in the season finale of “American Horror Story: Hotel”? Do you think she’ll be killed off like Marcy? Sound off in the comments section below and don’t forget to tune in to Season 5 of the FX series on Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. EST.
