Episode 4 of “American Horror Story: Coven” ended with a pretty intense cliffhanger: Miss Robichaux’s Academy under attack by Marie Laveau’s zombies. Well, the walking dead won’t disappear by the time episode 5 airs next Wednesday. We’ve got our hands on the synopsis for “Burn, Witch, Burn,” and the lurid drama doesn’t sound like it's slowing down.

Flashback

Like the previous episodes, “Burn, Witch, Burn” will feature a flashback – this time exposing more of Madame LaLaurie’s past in 1832. During “Fearful Pranks Ensue,” LaLaurie was shocked to find her zombie daughters on the doorstep of the Academy. This week her relationship with them will be further explored … and it doesn’t sound pretty.

According to the synopsis, LaLaurie’s daughters “can’t bear much more of their terrifying mother.” Unfortunately for them, they “make the mistake of saying so within earshot.”

Cordelia’s Attack

What exactly happened to Cordelia and who attacked her is still a mystery, but the event will definitely be “crippling” for Fiona’s daughter. The Supreme will “break down with guilt over all the love she never gave her daughter – a guilt she manifests in unnerving ways.”

But Fiona won’t be alone with her daughter at the hospital. Hank (fresh off a killing?) will visit his wife and come face to face with a furious Fiona. “Things may never be the same between him and Cordelia, who has been changed in more ways than one,” the synopsis teases.

The Zombies

With Fiona and Cordelia at the hospital, it’s a motley crew fighting off the zombies at the Academy. The young witches, LaLaurie, Spalding and Luke will be surrounded by the dead and getting into individual trouble. LaLaurie will be confronted by old ghosts, Luke will be trapped outside, and the others will attempt to barricade themselves away from the dead. Former enemies LaLaurie and Queenie will become “unexpected allies,” and Zoe ends up unleashing new magic – something so powerful that it “turns the tide of the advancing zombie horde.”

A New Supreme

While Myrtle may not have been able to prove that Fiona chopped off Spalding’s tongue or killed Anna Lee and Madison, the council member is not done fighting. Myrtle demands that Fiona step down as Supreme and “turn over control to the Council until such time as the new Supreme manifests.”

But Fiona won’t give up her crown so easily. A battle of secrets will break out between Myrtle and Fiona, while another Coven member will “find herself with a disturbing new secret of her own.”
