'American Horror Story' Season 4 Spoilers: Emma Roberts Tweets Behind-The-Scenes Photo Of 'Freak Show' Character
“American Horror Story” is so close to airing it Season 4 premiere of “Freak Show” we can practically taste the carnival treats now. Everyone’s favorite spooky series will be airing its latest anthology on Wednesday, Oct. 8. And to prepare fans for the terrifying installment, “Freak Show” cast member Emma Roberts has decided to tease viewers with a few behind-the-scenes pictures of “AHS” via Instagram.
Roberts, who will be playing the role of Maggie Esmerelda, a fortune teller at the carny, snapped a photo of herself with another “Freak Show” actress -- one, who despite her size, will make a big impact on Season 4 of “AHS.” The mastermind behind the FX series, Ryan Murphy, announced in August that 20-year-old Jyoti Amge would be appearing in the fourth season of “AHS,” portraying the role of Ma Petite, the world’s smallest woman.
The Guinness Book of World Records declared Amge the smallest woman on her 18th birthday when she stood at the height of 2 feet and 0.6 inches. Entertainment Weekly reported that Amge’s short stature is due to a growth condition called achondroplasia.
But whatever Amge lacks in size she makes up for in personality. Check out the newest “AHS” actress giving the “kissy face” along with Roberts in the adorable picture below:
However, just because this behind-the-scenes image exudes cuteness doesn’t mean Season 4 of “AHS” is in any shape or form delightful. According to Roberts, “Freak Show” will be much scarier than “Coven,” the third, campy anthology of “American Horror Story.”
“I have to say, ‘Freak Show’ is really scarier,” she revealed during an interview with E! News. “I read the script and I was having nightmares.”
And she’s not the only member from the “AHS” family waking up in a cold sweat due to the plot of “Freak Show.” Murphy revealed during an interview with BuzzFeed how spooked the “AHS” crew was when they caught glimpse of this season’s villain, Twisty the Clown, played by John Carroll Lynch.
“Two crew members told me they have had nightmares about this clown since we started shooting -- and they’re not even scared of clowns. I think he’s pretty extraordinary because, when you see why he’s a clown and why he’s wearing the mask … just you wait,” he teased, adding that Twisty was created to be the “most terrifying clown of all time.”
“I’m worried that people are going to have cardiac arrests,” he continued.
Are you ready to be scared this fall? Make sure to tune into the Season 4 premiere of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" when the new season airs Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 10 p.m. EDT.
