‘American Horror Story’ Season 4 Spoilers: Leslie Jordan Leaves ‘Freak Show’ Cast
A character on “American Horror Story” has bitten the dust -- before Season 4 even premiered! Leslie Jordan, who previously appeared in Season 3’s “Coven” as Quentin Fleming, a member of the witches council, has dropped out of the fourth installment of the FX drama, “Freak Show.”
Jordan, 59, is best known for his appearance as Beverley Leslie on “Will & Grace.” The actor joined the “Celebrity Big Brother” house on Monday, forcing him to pull out of “American Horror Story: Freak Show” due to scheduling conflicts. He had been set to appear in a four-episode arc in Season 4.
While the character that Leslie Jordan was supposed to play is a mystery for now, Digital Spy is reporting that series co-creator Ryan Murphy wrote the part specifically for the actor. According to the site Murphy even wrote a note that read: “I am a huge fan of yours Leslie, I understand the timing was off on this one, but I will always write you into future projects.”
Jordan reportedly said, “When I read that note, I almost s___ and fell back in it.”
“American Horror Story” fans will remember that Jordan appeared as Quentin Fleming in three episodes of “Coven.” Quentin was sent to Miss Robichaux’s Academy to investigate Fiona and the claims that she was killing students in order to stay the Supreme. The council ended up wrongly convicting Myrtle, but Myrtle got her revenge when she returned from the dead and scooped out one of his eyeballs to gift to Cordelia.
“Freak Show” is speculated to premiere on FX on Oct. 8. The new season of the mini-series is set in 1950s Juniper, FL., and follows one of the last remaining freak shows in existence. Season 4 stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Michael Chiklis, John Carroll Lynch, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti LaBelle, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Denis O'Hare and Frances Conroy. Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman, also joined the “AHS” cast.
