Have you made your reservation at Hotel Cortez? Pack your bags, because the spooky new season of “American Horror Story” is about to open its doors to the public. The fifth season of the FX anthology series, “Hotel,” premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and we’ve got all the details and photos to get you up to date on the chilling new tale.

The premiere, titled “Checking In,” will introduce viewers to the mysterious Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles. The owner is a woman named Elizabeth (Lady Gaga), who also goes by The Countess. However, the building has been around much longer than Elizabeth. When the hotel was first built in the 1930s the owner was a man named James March (Evan Peters). March is long gone, but his secrets may still remain within the walls of Hotel Cortez.

The synopsis for episode 1 teases that a “chain of gruesome murders” in town will lead Detective John Lowe (Wes Bentley) to Hotel Cortez. Is the murderer a resident? Are the crimes taking place at the building? Or perhaps all the victims are all somehow connected to the hotel? The mystery will begin to unfold during the premiere.
