‘American Idol’ Winner Jordin Sparks Is Married To Dana Isaiah And Pregnant
Jordin Sparks and Dana Isaiah secretly tied the knot in July, and the couple is now expecting their first child together.
According to People, the “American Idol” winner decided to stay mum about her and Isaiah’s nuptials, but she is now ready to talk about their union from four month ago. “We’re both really excited. He’s been like, ‘I want to shout it from the mountain tops!’ We’re really proud to be married to each other and to be celebrating this,” she said.
Sparks and Isaiah are also expected to welcome their first child sometime in the spring.
According to Isaiah, it was her mom and Isaiah’s mom who encouraged them to talk to each other. “My mom was trying to get Jordin to talk me out of moving to L.A. because she’s experienced the industry out there. It wasn’t like, ‘We want you guys to date,’” he said.
After a month of constant communication, Sparks and Isaiah developed a close relationship with each other. The aspiring model flew to Los Angeles for an agency meeting and met Sparks for the first time.
According to the “No Air” singer, she knew in her gut that Isaiah was the man he was supposed to marry. “A couple of days after we had actually met, I was like in my head, ‘That’s going to be my husband! That’s my husband right there,’” she said.
And some of the things she loves about Isaiah is that he makes her feel comfortable, safe, calm and peaceful. “And those aren’t things I normally felt. So it was a little wake-up call for me,” she said.
Prior to marrying Isaiah, Sparks was in a relationship with Jason Derulo. The couple’s relationship turned sour after Derulo became well-known in the music industry. In 2014, Sparks even released a song, titled “How About Now,” where she threw shade at her ex-boyfriend, according to Entertainment Tonight.
There is a line in the song that goes, “Remember when you broke your neck, and I had to wash your back for ya.” Derulo suffered from an accident during his 2012 rehearsal that almost left him paralyzed.
