Kelly Clarkson and will.i.am stopped by ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday to announce the full list of nominees for the 2013 American Music Awards (AMAs).

The five major categories of nominations were released by the duo on Thursday morning before moving to a press conference at B.B. King’s Blues Club in Times Square to reveal the rest.

Leading the pack was Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who scored six nods total including nominations for Artist of the Year, Best New Artist and Single of the Year for "Thrift Shop." Justin Timberlake came in second with five nominations including Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B. Rihanna scored four with Artist of the Year as well as Favorite Female Artist Pop/Rock.

Going up against Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will be the summer jam “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke featuring Pharrell and T.I. as well as “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line featuring Nelly.

Will.i.am also revealed that Miley Cyrus will perform at the 2013 AMAs this year as well as Imagine Dragons.

The AMAs are an annual music awards show created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC to replace the Grammy Awards when the contract with the network expired. While Grammy winners are chosen by the Recording Academy, the American Music Awards are selected by fans and music buyers. Nominations are based on record sales, airplay, social media and video viewing for songs and albums released between December and September of the current year. Categories run the gamut from pop, rock, country, rap/hip-hop, soul/R&B, contemporary, alternative, Latin and EDM.

The 2013 American Music Awards will take place Nov. 24 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif., and air on ABC. Winners are selected by public vote. You can vote for your favorite artists over at amavote.com.
