Some of the greatest names in music entertainment will take to the stage to celebrate the 42nd annual American Music Awards on ABC Sunday. Hosted by Pitbull, the event kicks off live at 8 p.m. EST.
The 2014 AMAs will reward popular musicians across all genres -- including alternative, country, rhythm and blues, rock and others -- by giving fans the opportunity to vote for whom they believe should win. The stars will gather at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, which will host stellar performers such as 5 Seconds of Summer, Iggy Azalea, Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Charli XCX, Fergie, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Skylar Grey, Imagine Dragons, Jessie J, Wyclef Jean, Lorde, Magic!, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift.

Pitbull will be joined by a slew of celebrity presenters to help him dish out the awards across the show’s 22 categories. Among the 2o14 presenters are Uzo Aduba, Jhene Aiko, Elizabeth Banks, Aloe Blacc, Lauren Cohan, Gavin DeGraw, Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx, Becky G, Brantley Gilbert, Danai Gurira, Lucy Hale, Ella Henderson, Julianne Hough, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kira Kazantsev, Heidi Klum, Mary Lambert, Rose McGowan, Danica McKellar, Pat Monahan of Train, Olivia Munn, Kevin O’Leary, Pentatonix, Tracee Ellis Ross, Taylor Schilling and Meghan Trainor.
A notable moment will be when Taylor Swift receives the first-ever “Dick Clark Award for Excellence.” According to the AMA website, Swift is being given the accolade because of her historic album sales. She is the only artist in history to have three albums (“Red,” “Speak” and “1989”) debut with more than 1 million copies sold in their respective first weeks of release.
The event can be live-streamed with the free Watch ABC app or by going to abc.com. To watch the event, users will need to sign in with their cable subscription information, so get to your personal-computer or tablet screens early.
