'The Americans' Season 3 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In 'Open House'? [VIDEO]

It is getting harder and harder for Phillip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Kerri Russell) to ignore the Paige (Holly Taylor) problem on “The Americans.” On one hand, the Centre is pushing the couple to bring their daughter into the spy game fold and, on the other hand, Paige is getting more and more inquisitive about her parent strange behavior. As Elizabeth said in episode 2 of the FX series’ third season, “this is not going to just go away,” and they are going to have to make a decision. However, in episode 3, “Open House,” someone might try to make that decision for them.

According to the synopsis for episode 3, things are about to get pretty dangerous for Phillip and Elizabeth as they get closer and closer to the CIA Afghanistan group. In episode 2, the couple snapped an album’s worth of pictures of the CIA agents and their cars’ license plates and they put themselves at considerable risk to do so. They are getting in pretty deep.

Plus, Stan (Noah Emmerich), in addition to desperately trying to salvage his marriage, will still be looking after Zinaida, the Soviet defector, who might have a KGB target on her back.

However, the juiciest tease for episode 3 comes from a scene in the promo which shows Gabriel (Frank Langella) inserting himself – and the Centre’s agenda -- into Phillip and Elizabeth’s family. Phillip and Elizabeth have been arguing amongst themselves about whether they will tell their 14-year old daughter Paige the truth about their work and start training her to follow in their footsteps. Well, Gabriel might be trying to make that decision for them. In the promo he can be seen talking to Paige, telling her, “We all have a choice to make.” Elizabeth defends Gabriel to Phillip saying, “He wants to help, that’s all,” but Phillip does not seem happy about the intrusion.

Will Gabriel convince Phillip and Elizabeth to bring Paige into the fold? Fans will have to wait to find out. “The Americans” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
