‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 11 Winner Grace Vanderwaal Is Back In New York After Europe Trip
“America’s Got Talent” Season 11 winner Grace Vanderwaal is back in her home in New York after a short trip to Europe.
The 13-year-old singer traveled to Austria to perform at the 2017 Special Olympics. While there, she had the chance to meet Jason Mraz. The two artists performed the latter’s hit song, “I’m Yours.” After her trip to Austria, Vanderwaal traveled to London for a short vacation with her dad. After her trip, she flew back to Austria to perform at the closing ceremony of the Olympics.
Now that Vanderwaal is back in New York, she has reunited with her older brother and sister, as well as her mom. On her Instagram account, she posted a photo of herself carrying a ukulele, hinting that she will soon start recording new songs at the studio.

Last month, Vanderwaal told Billboard that she’s working on her first full-length album. The “Clay” singer said that she’s very excited for her upcoming project because the album will also consist of all of her original songs. “This is definitely my more, ‘I don’t care’ album, like I don’t care what anyone else thinks about it. I definitely want it to be more produced because that’s what I like and that’s me. I think I get too hung up on what people think about it. I’ll never make everyone happy, so why do I even care anymore?” she said.
Now that she’s writing new music, Vanderwaal admitted that she found showing her original songs to other people very uncomfortable at first. “Because you literally walk into a room, introduce yourself, and then say like, ‘Let me completely open up to you about my personal life.’ But once you’re on a roll, it’s not uncomfortable,” she said.
Vanderwaal’s first full-length album will be released sometime in September.
