‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 12: Dancing Pumpkin Man, Mariachi Nuevo Santander Head To Judge Cuts
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will see the Dancing Pumpkin Man and Mariachi Neuvo performing in the judge cuts round on Tuesday night.
Ahead of the episode, Entertainment Weekly released an exclusive teaser, and it revealed that the Dancing Pumpkin Man has upped his routine by incorporating new movements and props. In his audition last month, judge Simon Cowell refused to give the 42-year-old contestant from Nebraska a pass. Initially, he only received two yeses, but Mel B urged her fellow judges to give him a chance.

During his judge cut audition, the Dancing Pumpkin Man will also come face-to-face with the “Talking Dead” host and funnyman Chris Hardwick. Despite Hardwick laughing hard at the Dancing Pumpkin Man’s performance, it is still unclear whether or not his act will be enough to send him to the next round.
Meanwhile, Roma High School’s nationally recognized Mariachi Nuevo Santander will also perform in the judge cuts this week. On their Twitter account, they expressed their excitement over their upcoming performance. The group’s audition in California didn’t make it to the televised episodes of the hit NBC series.
The Mariachi Nuevo Santander also earned top honors at four consecutive Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza competitions in the high school division. The group is under the direction of Eloy Garza, according to The Monitor.
Other than the group and the Dancing Pumpkin Man, magician Eric Jones will grace the first round of judge cuts in “America’s Got Talent.” During his audition, Jones received three yeses from Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. However, Cowell wasn’t impressed by his tricks.
In the teaser released by NBC, Jones tells Cowell that he took all of their comments to heart, most especially his, and he came back swinging. Cowell has a huge smile on his face throughout Jones’ magic act. The other judges also looked very happy with his routine as well. However, only half of the acts will make it to the next round so it is also unclear whether or not Jones will survive.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
