‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 12 Spoilers: Young Contestant Takes On Celine Dion Song [WATCH]
In the teaser released by NBC, a very excited Celine Tam enters the stage and introduces herself to judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. Mel B asks how she’s doing, and Celine tells the Spice Girls member that she’s doing well. Even before she sang, the crowd is already going wild because of how beautiful and adorable she looks.
Mel B also asks Celine if she has brothers and sisters, and she tells the judge that she has a younger sister named Dion. The young singer’s parents are huge fans of the “Power of Love” singer, so they named their daughters after the artist. When asked about the moment she realized that she has a wonderful singing voice, Celine said that her dad noticed it when she sung “My Heart Will Go On” in their car. The unlimited references to the singer made everyone laugh.
Celine was also asked what kind of music she listens to, and Cowell quickly responded that the young girl most likely loves listening to the singer. Mel continued by asking what Celine’s big dream is, and Cowell answered that she probably wants to become the next Celine Dion. However, Celine clarified that her big dream is to be on “America’s Got Talent.”
When Cowell finally asked which song she would be singing, Celine replied by saying that she’s going to perform a Dion song. The petite youngster sings “My Heart Will Go On” and wows everyone with her huge and powerful voice. Her performance leaves her parents in tears. By the looks of it, Celine will make it through to the next round, but it is still unclear if she will be given the golden buzzer.
As of late, only Klum has not handed her golden buzzer to any contestant. Mel B was the first, giving her golden buzzer to ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. Cowell followed with his golden buzzer pick, Mandy Harvey. Last week, Mandel gave his golden buzzer to Christian Guardino.
“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
