There hasn't been a huge amount of new layout details about the Airship map in "Among Us," but a recent developer update is all that fans need to learn about its release date and new tiny detail, which would delight players.

Innersloth, the studio behind "Among Us," shared an update a few days ago about the Airship map. On its official Twitter account, the game developer notes that they are aware of players' anticipation of the update and that they too want to release it. However, a lot is planned for the update and the team does not want to compromise its quality over speed.

Earlier, Innersloth confirmed that the new Airship map would be free for all players. It also mentioned that a new range of costumes would be available. The upcoming content will also enable players to dress up their in-game characters.

So far, fans know that the Airship map is set on a giant red ship with a new moving platform to slow players down and cause some sticky situations with impostors. A new range of tasks and ladders will also be available when the Airship map finally arrives in "Among Us." On top of that, players will have the chance to select the room where they want to begin the game.

As for the update's release date, rumors have it that it might arrive in the first quarter of 2021. This stems from Innersloth's previous announcement of the Airship's arrival in "early 2021." There is almost over a month left before Q1 2021 wraps up, and devs can take their time perfecting the content and layout of the new map.

The Airship map was announced at The Game Awards 2020. At that time, Innersloth revealed some details on what players can expect from it. Innersloth also confirmed in the past that "Among Us 2" would be released soon.

However, it recanted its statement and said that at the moment, it would devote its time solely to the development of the original game and plans to build it for as long as it is possible. Players waiting for the Airship map can try different kinds of fan-made custom mods and mini-games.
