KEY POINTS

  • "Among Us" is a very popular multiplayer game
  • It's so popular someone created a single-player version of it
  • The game is an unofficial version for those who want to try out "Among Us" alone

“Among Us,” the popular game created by InnerSloth, lets multiple players engage one another in a game of trust and betrayal. It’s a fun game to play with friends and with random people who just want to have a good time either running away from a deadly impostor or chasing innocent crewmates as that deadly impostor.

But while the game is normally played with a group, there’s a way to play “Among Us” solo, ScreenRant reported. That’s right – someone made it possible to play the highly popular deduction game all by their lonesome and without the risk of getting angry at the impostor or crewmates for ganging up on them, leading them to rage quit.

“Among Us” Single Player is an unofficial fan-made game mode created by someone named KlopityL using Construct 3. It's a browser game that lets players enjoy the thrill of chasing or running for dear life all by themselves and can be accessed via itch.io.

The solo-player game uses one of the maps from the original game. Players will play the role of the impostor, who will need to find clever ways to eliminate the crewmates running in the game.

Players will have access to the usual game features, such as vents and the ability to sabotage, to help them eliminate all crewmates before they finish their tasks. They can still report dead bodies, but they won’t see any discussion going on – the program itself will choose who it wants to eliminate.

Players can also customize their character’s color, choose from a variety of hats to wear and choose from a collection of pets to tug along. They, however, won’t be able to customize crewmates’ appearances.

There are a few caveats to the fan-made Single Player mode. As mentioned, there won’t be any discussion with other players (since it’s “single-player”), and gamers will need to get used to playing the game on their keyboards if they’re using a browser via a laptop or desktop computer. Players will also experience lags when using low specced computers or slow internet.

Klopity L also issued a disclaimer, saying, “I am not associated with Innersloth in any way.”
