Amy Duggar’s Husband Exposes Truth About '19 Kids' Family, Says They Don’t Discuss Josh's Issues Off-Camera
It seems Josh Duggar’s scandals are a taboo subject for the Duggar clan. While the former “19 Kids and Counting” stars have opened up about the disgraced reality star’s issues on TLC’s “Jill & Jessa: Counting On,” one member of the reality show family claims the Duggars are not keen on discussing Josh’s past off-camera.
As most Duggar fans know, Josh, the eldest offspring of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, was at the epicenter of two scandals this year. The 27-year-old dad of four was revealed to have molested underage females as a teen in May and admitted to cheating on his wife, Anna Duggar, with the affair website Ashley Madison in August. According to Dillon King, husband of Josh’s cousin Amy (Duggar) King, the family does not openly talk about his issues, despite what fans see onscreen.
“Every time you ask them how they’re doing, they’re all ‘doing great,’” Dillon, has who previously spoken out about Josh, told In Touch Weekly in their Dec. 28 print issue. “I don’t understand it,” he added when discussing why the family doesn’t talk about the problems surrounding Josh.
As for his thoughts on Anna’s on-camera appearances on “Counting On,” in which she discusses Josh’s cheating, Dillon says he think it may be a ratings ploy. “If that’s Anna’s choice then by all means let her do it,” he said. “But it looks like they are using all the emotion for ratings. It’s just not right.”
Anna last made a tearful appearance on her sister-in-laws' Jessa Seewald and Jill Dilard’s three-part special Dec 20. During the installment she discussed her plans for her marriage moving forward. “In my heart, when I got married, I vowed to God first and then to Joshua, 'For better or for worse. 'Til death do we part,'” she said. "I pray that through all of this that I would be an extension of God's love to Joshua, that I would love him and forgive him and wait patiently and allow God to work through our hearts."
Anna is due to appear on the finale of “Counting On,” which premieres Sunday on TLC. The episode, “Counting One More,” will also feature the arrival of Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald’s son Spurgeon.
