?Anchorman? Sequel: 5 Things To Know About Ron Burgundy?s New Movie

Anchorman Ron Burgundy is returning to the big screen after an eight-year hiatus.

Teasers for the upcoming film, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, have been released, featuring Burgundy's portrayer Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, and David Koechner reprising their roles.

It's time to do it again, but this time, I'm on top, Burgundy says in one teaser.

Ferrell, in character as the wayward news anchor, appeared on Conan O'Brien's talk show back in March and announced that he and Paramount Pictures had come to terms on a sequel.

It is set at the dawn of a news revolution.

Burgundy and company will find themselves on the cusp of an evolution in the news world (no, it's not Twitter): the 24-hour news cycle.

It's set around the advent of the 24-hour news channel, cast member David Koechner told E! news. They're writing a script right now so no specific details.

Adam McKay will return.

Anchorman director and writer Adam McKay will return for the sequel. McKay's directing credits include Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, both of which starred Ferrell (and a very funny John C. Reilly). McKay talked about the changing environment in which the news anchors find themselves with Empire magazine.

All of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you're talking about diversity and the Action News team, that's always fun to deal with, he said.

So will Christina Applegate.

Koechner told E!, and Entertainment Weekly confirmed, that Christina Applegate will return for the sequel. Applegate played Veronica Corningstone in the first film, Burgundy's new colleague and archnemesis who also became his lover. As the lone female anchor at the television station, Corningstone not only had to deal with Burgundy's weirdness, but also the macho attitudes of his backwards-thinking male colleagues. She stole many a scene.

Actors are begging for cameos.

The first film featured many cameos, particularly during the fight scene between all the anchormen from competing news stations.
