One of the 11 accusers of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had been previously known as “Executive Assistant #1” in the report of the investigation from the state attorney general's office. On Sunday, the accuser revealed her identity to speak out about the sexual harassment she faced while working for Cuomo.

Brittany Commisso will appear in an upcoming joint interview with “CBS This Morning” and Albany Times Union about her encounters with Cuomo. Clips of the interview have appeared on CBS News.

Accusers involved in sexual allegations often don

Commisso claimed she was sexually harassed in 2019 and 2020 when Cuomo began giving her “hugs with kisses on the cheek” and eventually turned his head to kiss her on the lips.

She also alleged Cuomo “reached under her blouse and grabbed her breast.” On another occasion, she claimed he “put his hand on and then rubbed and grabbed her butt.”

“What he did to me was a crime,” Commisso told CBS anchor Jericka Duncan. “He broke the law.”

Commisso revealed she was initially afraid to report Cuomo’s alleged behavior because of his prominent position.

“I didn’t say anything this whole time. People don’t understand that this is the governor of the state of New York,” Commisso explained.

“There are troopers that are outside of the mansion, and there are some mansion staff. Those troopers that are there — they are not there to protect me. They are there to protect him.”

Commisso revealed she didn’t think anyone would believe her story.

“I felt as though if I did something to insult him, especially insult him in his own home, it wasn’t going to be him that was going to get fired or in trouble. It was going to be me,” she said.

“And I felt as though if I said something that I know, who was going to believe me?”

Commisso decided “the governor needs to be held accountable," which she says is why she came forward with her story.

She has become the first of Cuomo’s accusers to file a criminal complaint against him. On Thursday, she filed the complaint with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office.

Cuomo has denied the accusations against him and stated he “never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances.”

Commisso’s interview will air Monday on “CBS This Morning.”
