The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the international Galaxy S3 is rolling out now Google

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the international Samsung Galaxy S3 (model GT-I9300) is rolling out once again after being pulled to fix bugs that left many Galaxy S3 handsets non-functional.

Over three weeks have passed since the Android 4.3 update for the international Galaxy S3 was postponed pending investigation from Samsung. Among the major Android 4.3 problems plaguing the Galaxy S3 were: lag when attempting to wake the device up from standby, random Freezing, extensive battery drain, issues with Bluetooth audio playback in cars, stuttered playback on Samsung’s music app, device freezing after incoming calls, poor RAM management, and Wi-Fi issues.

Many Android 4.3 issues also trickled onto U.S. models of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which resumed its update earlier this week. Since the Android 4.3 issues came to light, many Samsung Galaxy Models have updated to Android 4.3, including several U.S. Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 models as well as U.S., international and Canadian Galaxy Note 2 models. This indicates that the problems with Android 4.3 have largely been eradicated across the board; however, users should keep in mind that minor bugs may still exist.

Users indicate that the I9300XXUGMK6 build firmware includes fixes for performance and stability issues, which arose in the previous Android 4.3 update for the international Galaxy S3. For those who never received the update, a host of new features will come to the Galaxy S3, including Galaxy Gear support and the Samsung KNOX security system. The Samsung Galaxy S3 will also receive many features, which originated on the Galaxy S4 in this Android 4.3, including an updated user interface, keyboard, and notification center, new camera modes, and the Move-to-SD-card feature, among many others.

The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S3 in Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic (Vodafone), Ireland (Vodafone), Romania (Vodafone), Slovenia (Si.mobil), Switzerland (Swisscom), and the United Kingdom – BTU. The over-the-air update will continue to rollout to Galaxy S3 handsets in other markets over the coming days. Users can keep track of if and when their handset will update here. As always, users can check for the update manually by accessing Settings > About device > Software update.
