Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Leaked For Samsung Galaxy Note 3; How To Install It
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the model number SM-N9005 can now update their devices to Android 5.0 Lollipop, thanks to a leaked version of the latest mobile operating system, which is available for download from the XDA Developers forum.
The leaked firmware build, which is 1.1GB in size, is based on the “N9505XXUGBNL8” software bundle, and has all the key Android 5.0 features and a re-built Touchwiz interface, developed by Samsung, Android Community reported.
Here is a tutorial on how to upgrade the Galaxy Note 3 to Android 5.0 Lollipop (N9005XXUGBNL8) using the latest version of Odin. But, before performing the manual installation, users should be aware of certain aspects:
- The installation is only meant for Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005
- All data stored in the handset must be properly backed up
- The handset should have at least 80 percent battery power
- USB drivers for the device must be installed on the computer
- USB Debugging must be enabled
- After flashing the firmware, any installed custom ROM and custom recovery will be lost
- The first boot following the installation will be significantly longer

Tutorial
Step 1: Download the firmware package and extract the zip file. There will be a .tar.md5 file along with some other files.
Step 2: Download Odin v3.09, and extract the zip file. There will be an Odin3 v3.09.exe file along with some other files.
Step 3: Run Odin3 v3.09 as an Administrator.
Step 4: Reboot the Galaxy Note 3 into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power buttons. After a warning message appears, press Volume Up key to enter Download Mode.
Step 5: Connect the device to the computer via the USB cable.
Step 6: In the Odin window, click on specific buttons to add files that were extracted in Step 1. Follow the screenshots below:
Users of the 16GB version of the Galaxy Note 3 should not use .pit file. It is only for the 32GB model of the device.
Step 7: In Odin, the “Re-Partition” option should be ticked only if the installation process includes the .pit file.
Step 8: Click on the Start button in Odin to begin flashing.
Step 9: After the process is complete, a “PASS!” message will appear in ID:COM port with green background and the device will restart automatically.
Step 10: After the Samsung logo appears on the home screen, you can unplug the device from the computer. The Galaxy Note 3 will now be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop N9005XXUGBNL8.
