Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA For HTC One M9 To Start July 1 For Sprint Users
The HTC One M9 flagship was released with Android 5.0 Lollipop onboard. Since its release in March, the handset has not received a newer build of Android. Fresh reports reveal that the most recent Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update will be available for Sprint users of HTC One M9 beginning July 1.
In the previous week a custom ROM was rolled out for the HTC One M9 and now the Android 5.1 Lollipop is finally going to be available for Sprint users July 1, reports Android Central. The VP of product management with HTC USA, Mo Versi, tweeted that the company has approved Lollipop 5.1 for HTC One M9 owners on Sprint. The update will improve the device's camera.
As of this writing, Sprint has not released any change log on the Android 5.1 update for HTC One M9 owners. However, since Versi confirmed it, an OTA update notification will show up soon. GSM Arena claims the update may also fix issues related to Wi-Fi connectivity, notifications, security and more.
The HTC One M9 comes with a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display that supports full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display offers a pixel density of 441 ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Under the hood of the smartphone lies the Snapdragon 810 chipset that is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. It is available in only one native storage variant of 32 GB. Users can add up to 128 GB of microSD on external storage.
The device is fitted with a 20 MP camera along with dual LED flash on the rear. Instead of using an UltraPixel camera that can be found on the predecessor model, HTC decided to use a 20 MP Toshiba camera sensor. The front features a selfie camera of 4 MP that is capable of shooting full HD videos.
HTC has packed a nonremovable battery of 2,840 mAh capacity. The HTC One M9 is available in gray, gold, silver/rose gold and gold/pink. It's 9.6 mm thick and weighs 157 grams.
