It seems most people have not been saying Khloé Kardashian's name the right way her entire career.
Andy Cohen revealed on Monday's "Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" that Kardashian's name is actually pronounced "Klo-ay" because of the accent above the "e" and not "Klo-ee." The "Watch What Happens Live" host added that this was confirmed by Kardashian's mom, Kris Jenner.
"It's Klo-ay. Khloé is the name. There’s a little accent over the name," he told host Jimmy Fallon.
Even the Kardashians were surprised to learn that there was another way to pronounce the Good American cofounder's name.
"And so, I went and interviewed the Kardashians at Khloé's house," Cohen recalled. "I walked in, I go, ‘Khloé?' and the other women go, ‘Excuse me?' And Kris [Jenner] said, ‘Yeah, that's actually really how it's pronounced.'"
Cohen jokingly added that he was the only one who received "the memo" in articulating the 36-year-old reality star's name correctly. "There’s a little thing on top of the name, why am I the only one that got that?" he continued.
Cohen also spoke about the experience of interviewing the Kardashians during the pandemic for his new E! docuseries, "For Real: The Story of Reality TV," which premieres Thursday. According to him, he had to get a COVID-test before his arrival at the shoot. He also went through a multitude of gates.
"I said, ‘Oh, you want to give me the results of the COVID test?’ They go, ‘Go to Khloé’s and if the second gate opens, you’re negative,'" he recalled. "And the gate opened and I was like, ‘All right, I don’t have COVID.'"
When asked if there was a third gate, Cohen said, "There are so many gates, I don't even remember, honestly."
Cohen shares a close bond with the Kardashians. After the famous clan announced that "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" was ending after Season 20 last year, he was asked about the rumors of the momager possibly joining "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" when their long-running show wrapped.
"Why would she leave and join a show that she [Kris Jenner] has no control over? She wouldn’t be an executive producer of the show, she wouldn’t have control over the edits, so I think for someone who is used to having so much power over a show, I can’t see her surrendering that power," he said. "It would be a huge get, I really don’t think she would do it… I don’t think she would do it as a friend."
