Angela ‘Big Ang’ Raiola’s Estranged Husband Neil Murphy Cries Outside ‘Mob Wives’ Star’s Wake [VIDEO]
Angela "Big Ang" Raiola's estranged husband, Neil Murphy, got emotional as he stood outside the Scarpaci Funeral Home in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday. Even though the "Mob Wives" star had revealed earlier this month that she had left Murphy, the sanitation worker was among a large group of people to pay their respects for her at a wake.
In a video posted by TMZ, Murphy was seen standing outside on a patio surrounded by a group of people as he wiped his eyes and smoked a cigarette. Afterward, he told a TMZ photographer, "Angela loved all her fans. She's a people person."
During a recent appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show," Big Ang said she left her husband of six years because he wasn't supportive during her battle with stage 4 lung and brain cancer.
“I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it,” she said. “Now, it’s too late. I would rather be by myself. I would rather be alone.”
Shortly after Big Ang's interview, she lost her battle with cancer. She died at the age of 55 on Feb. 18. At the time, People magazine reported that the VH1 star was surrounded by loved ones in her final moments, including Murphy.
Big Ang's friend and "Mob Wives" co-star Carla Facciolo told the outlet that it wasn't clear if Big Ang and Murphy were able to patch things up before she died, but said he never left her side while she was hospitalized.
“He’s part of her life,” Facciolo said. “He’s still her husband, you know? I don’t know if they got back together, but to Ang, when she throws somebody off her for a little bit, they’re always back in. She takes in people.”
As previously reported, several wakes were held over the weekend for Big Ang with a funeral service planned for Monday at Basilica of Regina Pacis in Brooklyn.
