Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt Kids Update: Actor Reunites With Son Maddox First Time Since Alleged Plane Incident
Brad Pitt and his 15-year-old son Maddox reunited for the first time since the actor was involved in an incident on a plane with the teenager, TMZ reported. The news comes just days after Us Weekly reported that Maddox did not want to meet his father after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on Sept. 19.
Pitt and Maddox met face-to-face Wednesday afternoon in the presence of a therapist, TMZ reported citing sources close to Jolie. The report added that plans for a meeting between Pitt and Maddox had been around for several days, but the therapist believed the time wasn't right earlier. Following his divorce from Jolie, Pitt had reconnected with all their children except Maddox.
Pitt and Jolie, who ended their two years of marriage last month, have agreed to a temporary custody plan with the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services. Jolie gets temporary physical custody of their six children while Pitt gets visitation rights.
Last month, the "Allied" star was being investigated by the Los Angeles police for child abuse claims after he allegedly got into an altercation with Maddox, who Jolie adopted from Cambodia in 2002 — two years before she and Pitt began their relationship.
Pitt and Maddox's reunion comes amid reports that the actor and his estranged wife have not seen each other since the divorce filing.
“Angelina Jolie-Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time,” her attorney told People Magazine at the time.
“Angelina will always do what’s in the best interest of taking care of her family. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time,” Geyer Kosinski, Jolie’s manager, told E! News a few days later.
