Angelina Jolie Files Child Custody Evaluation Against Brad Over Possible Abuse, Mental Health Claims

Angelina Jolie just filed a child custody evaluation against Brad Pitt in Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, The Blast confirmed that Jolie and Pitt’s custody case is back in court even though their negotiations continue to move forward in private. Details about the case are being under wraps following Jolie’s request to keep the details under seal. This means that even in the future, no one would have access to the filing.

A child custody evaluation is usually filed in cases where there are concerns about different types of abuse, as well as mental health problems. Before a custody agreement is ruled out, a judge usually digs deeper into the parents’ history of abuse, mental health, and parenting practices.

In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt whilst alleging that the latter threatened to attack their eldest son, Maddox, while he was intoxicated. Shortly after, the “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” star confirmed that he has struggled with alcohol addiction for years.

While speaking with The New York Times, the “Ad Astra” star said that he already removed his drinking privileges especially after what happened between him and his son while they were on a plane.

Pitt also revealed that he has been attending AA meetings for a year and a half.

“I had taken things as far as I could take it, so I removed my drinking privileges. You had all these men sitting around being open and honest in a way I have never heard. It was this safe space where there was little judgment, and therefore little judgment of yourself,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jolie also made headlines this week after she made a rare public appearance with two of her six children in Los Angeles. The “Maleficent” star watched Cirque du Soleil with Zahara and Vivienne earlier this week. The trio also posed with the cast and crew of the popular show.
