  • Brad Pitt is allowed to spend more time with his five minor children
  • Angelina Jolie failed to replace Judge John Ouderkirk in November
  • Jolie's lawyers argued that the judge denied the actress a fair trial

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's custody battle continues after their shocking split in 2016. Recent reports claim that the "Salt" actress has objected to a judge's tentative ruling after Pitt is awarded more custody.

Judge John Ouderkirk, on May 13, ruled that the existing custody order must be modified as per Pitt's request.

The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor is allowed to spend more time with his five minor children – Shiloh, Vivienne, Zahara, Knox and Pax. Maddox, who is now 19 years old, is no longer part of the custody case.

An insider close to Pitt told People that he always wanted what was best for his children. "A few weeks ago, the judge's decision came down after a months long trial. Brad has been awarded significantly more time with the kids. He had had very limited time before," the source said.

Another tipster said Pitt was extremely happy with the judge's decision. "All he wanted to do was see his kids. For him, it's the most positive results," the informant told E! News. "Brad has always been seeking the opportunity to have more time with his children and prioritized their well-being."

The judge's tentative decision was made based on the testimony given by people who spent time with the Jolie-Pitt kids and by therapists and professional evaluators.

However, Jolie filed a complaint with California's Second District Court of Appeal against Ouderkirk's ruling Monday. "Joint custody is not the issue that Angelina objects to, there were other issues of concern, but the court proceedings are closed and sealed," an informant told NBC News.

The "Wanted" actress was unsuccessful in her attempt to replace the judge, who is also overseeing their divorce battle, in November. At the time, Jolie's lawyers argued that Judge Ouderkirk denied her a fair trial, adding that the evidence relevant to the kid's health, safety and welfare were improperly excluded.

Jolie even claimed that the judge refused to listen to her minor children's input, including their experiences, needs or wishes.

However, the Superior Court of California in Orange County ruled that Ouderkirk will remain on the case. The judge, according to the ruling, properly revealed his involvement with his law firm representing the "Fury" actor before the case was assigned to him.
