Angelina Jolie Opens Up About Being Single: ‘It’s Not Something I Wanted’
Angelina Jolie may have filed for divorce from her estranged husband Brad Pitt and then called it off almost a year later, but this does not mean she and Pitt have any plans to get back together. Despite this, she also does not enjoy being single after being in a relationship for so long.
In an interview with Sunday Telegraph, Jolie said she finds being single a difficult experience. “It’s not something that I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard. Sometimes it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I’m just trying to get through my days. Emotionally, it’s been a very difficult year and I have had some other health issues. So my health is something that I have to monitor,” she said.
According to E! News, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016 after their two-year marriage. The couple has been in a relationship for 12 years and has been blessed with six children. Months after their divorce filing, Jolie and Pitt got involved in a custody battle, but they later on reached a temporary custody agreement.
Last month, a source told the publication that Jolie and Pitt’s divorce process had not been moving at the time. “They are taking a breather and seeing what happens,” said the insider.
However, the same source stressed that this does not mean the ex-couple are planning to get back together. “They are both focused on putting their children’s priorities first and getting along, but this story is clearly an outsider trying to create a storyline that doesn’t exist,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Jolie told Sunday Telegraph that she doesn’t have any immediate projects lined up at the moment. This is why she has decided to attend cooking classes and focus her time and attention on her kids. “Cooking is one of those things you do when you are settled in your life and you can take the time. But, somehow I am just very impatient and I am a little bit erratic. But I am getting into it now. I feel like, if I cook, the kids can all hang out. Although, they often take over and tell me that they can do it better,” she said.
